"Y'know, it's scary what the car companies propose much less what NHTSA accepts as fixes to reportedly dangerous issues. Ludicrous 'accepted' fixes off the top of my head: - Unplug fiery device until a suitable replacement is designed - So you can have a functional horn, use the defroster grid fixer kit available at any crappy autoparts store. - Put a piece of foam or flock btwn the wire and metal so it doesn't abrade the wire's insulation (and possibly causing the horn to blow or airbag to fire) (foam and flock don't abrade...right) Has Duct Tape(TM) ever been part of an official NHTSA 'fix'?"
